Fr. Nikodemos Anagnostopoulos

The V. Revd Archimandrite Dr Nikodemos Anagnostopoulos is the Senior Priest of our Parish. He was born in Athens in 1976 and was ordained in 1996. In 2004 he came to England for studies and served at various parishes of the Holy Archdiocese of Thyateira and Great Britain. Between March 2020 and March 2022 he served as the Chancellor of the newly elected Archbishop Nikitas. He studied Social Theology at the University of Athens and completed a Master’s Degree in Pastoral Theology at St. Mary’s University, Twickenham. He also holds a Ph.D. in Philosophy from Heythrop College, University of London. Fr. Nikodemos is also a faculty member at the University of Notre Dame in England teaching Christianity and Islam & Christianity and Religious Art. A major focus of his research investigates the cultural, socio-economic and political implications of the increasing number of Muslim refugees and immigrants in European territories as a result of the current situation in Syria, Iraq and the wider area of the Middle East. Fr. Nikodemos has taught at various UK institutions and participated in many national and international symposia and conferences.

Fr. John Hookway

The Rev’d Protopresbyter John Hookway was born in London and raised in Devon. He has a degree in modern languages from Birmingham University and holds a degree in Theology from Aristotle University, Thessalonica. He was ordained deacon and priest at St Demetrios Church and appointed to the parish in July 2000 after a year of ministry in Cyprus. He is married to Vassilia and has four children and three grandchildren.
